Summary:This study is part of a project aimed at producing novel anti-bacterial and anti-protozoa compounds of therapeutic potential from sponges of the Red Sea. The stereochemistry of two acidic C sub(24)H sub(40)O sub(4) norsesquiterpenoid peroxides isolated from the Red Sea sponge Prianos) sp. has been studied. They manifest antibiotic activity against Gram-negative bacteria and yeast.
