Summary:Online version. Print available. Only abstract. "Paradoxes, reasons of their appearance and the role in assessment of correctness of calculation models are discussed. On the examples from building mechanics it is shown that the appearance of some paradoxes is connected with the choice of calculation models, taking into account the features of real object not quite. It is noticed that some features of real object insignificantly influencing on the results of calculation in some cases can qualitatively change the result in others, and the paradox can disappear at a little change of conditions of calculation and observation. The presence of the paradox stimulates to new researches, deeper comprehension of the theory, its "obvious" postulates and leads sometimes to its total reconsideration."
