Summary: | Mathematic models are used to analyze the performance of a gasifier developed within the framework of a Belgian-West German project involving underground coal gasification. The models are based on the simultaneous resolution of the different thermodynamic equilibria of the gasification reactions, and on the relative distribution of deuterium, oxygen 18, and carbon 13 in the produced gases. The temperature is evaluated in each of four gasifier zones, and the relative contributions of the distillation and gasification zones to the process are examined. |
