Summary:In this work we try to recognize some of the principal relations of similarities and differences that exist between two of the disciplines that deal with the treatment of the use of the language; of the linguistic communication in such all that, this is, the Pragmatics and the Rhetoric. Our aim, therefore, is of making concrete the points of approximation and distancing that are given between these two matters. The methodology that we are going to follow will be it of exposing some of the principal convergences and differences that are given among the ends and aims; the theoretical exposition and the instructive approaches of the Rhetoric and the Pragmatics. We will come to the conclusion from that, actually, are not so distant the theoretical principles of those who divide both disciplines and that, even, we can venture the suitable adjustment of its theories at the moment of studying the communicative act.
