Summary:Over the years it was identified investments needs in AMT cast house area such as acquiring new technologies to monitor drainage control of hearth, improving current equipment or enhancing the quality of taphole mixes. They had the purpose of improving the pig iron and slag balance. Examples of actions are drill machine cooling, taphole thermal profile and mud gun temperature control so as the advance on study of taphole mixes. These actions allowed the control of liquid amount present inside the hearth and helped us to take decisions besides affording a better control of cracks index and stability of taphole mixes injection.
