Summary:This paper describes the results obtained in the Production of Calcined pellets with the addition of blast furnace mud, in partial and total substitution of coal in the pellet mixture, with the goal of application in steelmaking processes. This Mud is a waste generated in the Blast Furnace process and have no use economically viable (only 2% for ceramic industries) and large generates environmental liabilities. It has high levels of carbon and iron, which provides use as a source fuel and metal. An alternative to recycling this waste is to use the agglomeration processes. The manufacturing of pellet with the addition of mud creates a versatile product for employed in the reduction processes in Blast Furnace and Steelmaking processes.
