Evaluation of the fatigue crack growth curves in a low temperature of an ABNT 4133 modified steel (API - 5CT)

The increased use of pipelines to transport oil and natural gas has driven the development of steel resistant to harsh conditions. Using Paris-Erdogan model in the stage II region, the goal of this study was the analysis of the fatigue crack growth at a low temperature of ABNT 4133 modified (API 5CT...

Summary:The increased use of pipelines to transport oil and natural gas has driven the development of steel resistant to harsh conditions. Using Paris-Erdogan model in the stage II region, the goal of this study was the analysis of the fatigue crack growth at a low temperature of ABNT 4133 modified (API 5CT) manufactured by continuous ingot casting. The curve analysis smoothing was performed in Origin7.5 program, and a t test hypotheses was in Minitab14. It is observed that the material used in pipelines to transport oil and natural gas (API5CT) didn't affect the mechanical properties when used at low temperatures.
