Summary:This work aimed to analyze the microstrutural evaluation and the mechanical behavior for aluminum alloys AA2139 T3 and T8 joined by the process Friction Stir Welding-FSW. The microstrutural analysis was performed by optical microscope and scanning and transmission electronic microscope and the mechanical behavior was carried out by microhardness test, bending test and uniaxial tension stress. The alloys were welded with the same parameters and with the same tool, in order to evaluate the quality of the joint for each condition (T3 and T8). The results demonstrate behaviors completely different, the T8 condition greatly superior than T3.
