Summary: | Yeast cells were successfully used as natural bio-templates in the formation of ZnWO... hollow microspheres. The as-obtained products were characterized by SEM, XRD, TG-DTA and FT-IR. The results showed the ZnWO... hollow microspheres, with the diameters ranging from 2.5μm to 3.5...m, retained the morphology of yeast templates fairly well. The as-synthesized hollow spheres were constructed from ZnWO... nano-particles of monoclinic phase. A possible formation mechanism of ZnWO... hollow microspheres was proposed. And the photocatalytic properties of the ZnWO... hollow microspheres were studied by the photocatalytic degradation of Auramine O in aqueous solution.
