Summary:CuAl2O4/TiO2 composite films were successfully prepared by doping CuAl2O4 nanoparticles obtained via the citrate method in titania powders, and its photoelectric properties were tested in the designed dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The screen-printed composite films were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-spectrophotometer and electrochemical method and evaluated as part of DSSCs for the energy conversion. Analysis results indicated that, when the content of CuAl2O4 was 1wt%, the composite film electrode displayed desirable photoelectric properties and the parameters of Jsc, Voc, FF and η was increased 22.0%, 7.0%, 7.4% and 40.0%, respectively, in comparsion with pure TiO2 film electrode.
