Summary:This research studied the impact of choice of using new ICTs (information and communication technologies) in education. The study was performed through quantitative research, composed of exploratory and descriptive sections. Two directors responsible for ICTs and four higher education teachers participated in the exploratory phase. In the quantitative descriptive phase questionnaires were administered to 115 teachers of higher education. The data were analyzed in a multivariate relationship model through structural equation modeling using the PLS method (partial least squares regression). The results showed the objects of choice was consistent with the context of the organization which is to avoid regret, assessment costs, compliance costs and negative emotions. This had a significant impact about the trend to innovate in the category. The study showed that the teachers have a low tendency to innovate when they only use simple ICTs in the classroom.
