Summary:The present article describes a recent Korean technology, for books, archives and cultural properties preservation. It presents a completely ecological procedure, based on fumigation using volatile pure plant extracts, in closed chambers. The equipments working on this principle have built-in pre-set programs with various parameters depending on the nature of the treated materials. The technology is applicable on any organic materials used in manufacturing of the cultural properties: paper, wood, textiles, pigments; so there can be processed books, clothes, any kind of wooden stuff and even paintings. The tests performed in the Korean laboratories show the good results of this working principle. There are mentioned the technical data and performances of the method and equipments, according with the employment experience in Asian countries. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
