Summary:Objective: The present study aims to evaluate the environmental attributes of green cosmetics related to the composition of natural active substances and product packaging. Method: Products from four cosmetic industries were selected, labeling for natural active components and ecodesign strategies were evaluated. Data collection was through information from the companies' websites, highlighting the main active substances used in the products with their respective therapeutic actions, in addition to describing the main ecodesign strategies related mainly to the packaging of the products. Results and Discussion: The cosmetics analyzed have several aspects related to sustainability. It was found that the four companies have several natural actives in their composition with different therapeutic activities. In addition, they use sustainable inputs and packaging, and such sustainable practices of cosmetics companies are relevant, reflecting the importance of the environmental responsibility of these organizations for the environment and for society as a whole. Conclusion: It is important that companies always seek to develop technologies and methods to reduce environmental impact. This can be from the acquisition of raw materials to the correct disposal, so that new products can be recycled and recreated, in a conscious and more ecological way, focusing on the preservation of natural resources and the planet for future generations.
