Summary: | The study examined psychological health and socio-demographic as correlate of birth control among women of reproductive age at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan-Remo Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive survey research design and a purposive sampling technique to select 150 women at the Babcock Unive rsity Teaching Hospital (O&G Unit). A modified Brief Psychological Wellbeing Scale and self-structure questionnaire tagged ` Measure of Birth Control Scale (MUBCS) was used and reliability coefficient at 0.8. Data was analyzed using simple percentage, Pearson Correlational Analysis, and multiple regression analysis and three null hypothesis were tested at 0.05 level of significance. All the three null hypothesis were rejected. The study concluded that contraceptives services and implementing the plans must be based on mutual understanding and purely voluntary on the part of the couple. Also, there is a higher level of awareness about modern family planning methods among civil servant in low- and middle-income economy. The study therefore recommends that women should be encouraged through enlighten programme by government or health facilitators on the benefits of child spacing. |
