Summary:The groundwater in the study region is also categorized according to the Water Quality Index as part of the research on acceptability for drinking. Indicating a significant variation in water quality, WQI values ranged from 13.53 to 1052.2 in the pre-monsoon season to 25.72 to 1024.6 in the post-monsoon season. These values are excessively high at numerous sampling locations, as 61.97% and 63.38% of ground water samples, respectively, were classified as "unsuitable for drinking" based on their WQI values in the pre and post monsoon seasons.
