Summary:Christians around the world face threats like this and worse every day, but Gonsalves was in no danger because she knew the militants were actually British soldiers dressed up, and that they were all taking part in an exercise to train the patrol that came and rescued her. Most Christians in that situation won't get rescued by a patrol of soldiers, and in many countries, the soldiers would be just as dangerous as the militants. Christian persecution is a major theme in her novella Someday as well as in her first published novel, I Am Margaret, a futuristic dystopian novel for teens, influenced by the life of St. Margaret Clitherow, a saint martyred in England in Elizabethan times.
