Summary:[LANGUAGE= "English"] Pulmonary mucormycosis is an uncommon fungus infection complicating diabetes mellitus. leukemia, lymphoma, and other debilitating diseases. The rapid progression of the clinical course and strong propensity for invasion of large vessels and central airways leading to fatal massive hemoptysis, respiratory failure, or fungal sepsis is responsible for the high mortality rate. This report concerns about two cases with the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus and pulmonary mucormycosis who were successfully treated by pulmonary resection plus medical therapy; the case was discussed in the light of literature.
