Summary:Throughout its over 70 years of existence, the NATO alliance has had a continuous concern for the transformation and adaptation of its specific structure and processes, in order to successfully fulfill its objectives, under the conditions of a continuous change of the environment, confrontation in which the alliance projects its own interests. Within the Alliance one can notice a high interest for the elaboration and updating of the policies and the doctrinal framework specific to the engineer branch, considering its extremely high importance in the deployment and protection of NATO forces. The Romanian Army has taken important steps in the transformation process, thus aiming as an end goal at an integration that allows the full interoperability of its capabilities with those made available by the other partner states within the Alliance
