Summary: | Background:Psoriasis is diagnosed clinically based on characteristic erythematous, well-demarcated, silvery-white scaly papules or plaques over the extensor aspect of the knees, elbows, and trunk as well as the scalp. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate &analyse the role of PD1 +ve TFH cells in psoriatic patients and its relation to the clinical signs. Methods: The study involved 30 patients with psoriasis from Dermatology outpatient clinic, Menoufia university hospital and 15 apparently healthy volunteers as control group. Results: There is no statistically significant correlation between CD4, CD4/CD18, CD4/CD249, CD185/CD249, PD1 and age, age of onset, duration of illness and PASI score. Conclusion: In conclusion, our finding could explain the paucity of humoral immunity in psoriasis pathogenesis. There is statistically significant increase in CD4 and CD4/CD249 in patients with psoriasis than healthy controls, while there is statistically significant decrease in CD185/CD249 and PD1in patients with psoriasis than healthy controls. |
