Summary:Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the experiences of the parents of the children with cancer. Method: In this study, one of the qualitative research methods was used. The interviews were conducted with the parents (6 mothers, 6 fathers) of the children who aged 7-11 years, received chemotherapywere and diagnosed with cancer at least six months ago. In order to analyze the data, content analysis method was used as a qualitative data analysis method. Results: According to the families, the disease is an act of God; they praise because worse conditions could be developed; this disease may be a familial disease; the disease may develop because of excess breastfeeding, jealousy in the family or evil eye. Conclusion: In conclusion, the parents of the children with cancer faced many negative situations during the diagnosis and treatment process of the disease.
