Summary: | Introduction: Horseshoe kidney is a common congenital disease, most cases being asymptomatic, detected incidentally by radiological investigations, surgery or autopsy. After the excision of the PUJ compressed by the aberrant arterial vessel, pelvic-ureteral anastomosis was performed, anterior of the arterial vessel, over a double J stent inserted anterogradely. Conclusions: Laparoscopic pyeloplasty has excellent results, being the procedure of choice for the management of UPJO syndrome in normal orthotopic kidneys, but it can be successfully applied in cases of horseshoe kidneys obtaining similar results, transperitoneal technique offering multiple advantages (very good visibility, dissection accuracy, minimal bleeding and minimal parietal trauma). |
