Summary:Objective: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is a potentially fatal respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, which has occurred in a human pandemic. This study aims to assess the responses of IgM and IgG antibodies to the virus after 7-14 days following the onset of illness. Materials and Methods: A total of 95 cases, including 67 patients with COVID-19 (24 male and 43 female) and 28 healthy individuals without COVID-19 as the control group (7 male and 21 female), were selected in the present study. IgM and IgG antibodies for COVID-19 were evaluated using rapid chromatographic immunoassay (RCI). Results: RCI demonstrated that IgM antibody was found as positive in 67 patients (100%) after 7-14 days, whereas IgG antibody was found as positive in 56 patients (83.6%) after 7 days and 67 patients (100%) were positive after 14 days. Conclusion: According to the obtained results, RCI for IgM and IgG antibodies can be used to make a quick and accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 infections.
