Summary: | Introduction: The experiment was performed in order to evaluate the potential of Areca catechu Linn nut extract as an alternative pesticide against aedes mosquitoes. Methods: The chemical components were primarily determined via gas chromatography and mass spectrometry analyses. Results: A. catechu nut methanolic and acetonic extracts indicated both identified and unidentified active compounds. Arecoline, Hexadecanoic acid, Octadecenoic acid, Decanoic acid, methyl ester, Methyl tetradecanoate, and others are among the 36 bioactive chemicals. Conclusion: According to prior research, these chemicals contain active insecticidal activities such as larvicidal, pesticidal, insecticides, and fungicides. Despite the fact that it has several insecticidal and mosquitocidal effects, this plant needs additional investigation to establish its unknown compounds and the specific characteristics. |
