Summary:This study has been conducted to determine the impact of board gender diversity on the financial performance of the Pakistani Conventional and Islamic Banks. The overall objective is to quantify the impact of gender diversity and the performance of banks. The study included a panel of 12 banks and data from 2008 to 2018 was obtained and using the multiple regression approach the results of the study indicates that performance of banks is not predicted by the measures of gender diversity. The study also indicates a lower level of female presence on the boards of conventional and Islamic banks. It has been recommended to increase the level of female presence on bank boards of Pakistan to increase the board independence, reduce the diversity gap and to resolve the ethical issues.
