Summary: | This video demonstrates the application of a novel tissue retraction technique. The patient is a 86 year old female with a 55 mm flat polyp in the ascending colon. Endoscopic submucosal dissection with clip application during resection is performed. A total of 60 mm area is resected and 2 endoscopic hemoclips are applied. Steps of the procedure are demonstrated in detail. The patient was discharged home the next day with no immediate or post-procedural complications with a total case time of 90 minutes. Endoscopic clip application between the edge of the lesion and the opposite bowel wall enables effective retraction/counter traction and facilitates tissue resection. |
