Summary:In this article are presented the results of a monograph research on the individuation process, term proposed by Carl Jung. Was analyzed the function archetypal self the principal archetype of the process, the relationship of the concept of "person" as an artificial mask that covers the personality, limiting individuation and identification symbol of the mandala as a projection the process of individuation. To organize the data, the information obtaining was used the file Documentary Analysis Worksheet (F.A.D) to collect the data. Es por ello que, gracias a sus estudios y su inmersión en las expresiones inconscientes de la psique hacia la trascendencia, es considerado como el precursor de las teorías del arco de vida, por lo cual ha sido llamado el primer psicólogo transpersonal (Murray, 2004).
