Summary:Worldwide, one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the hotel industry. The decrease in the occupancy rate of hotels has been visible since March 2020, similarly there is a decrease in performance indicators, such as average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR). Specialized studies estimating that only starting with 2024 the hotel industry will be able to return to the level of performance before the pandemic. Therefore, the paper aims to present the main coordinates of the hotel industry worldwide, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the development possibilities of the industry in the current socioeconomic context.
