Summary: | Gerver reflects on the fundamentals of education as we move out of the Covid-19 pandemic. We must focus on education being a celebration of life: past, present, and future. We must connect the learning experiences we share with an authenticity, immediacy, and relevance to young people that allows them to make connections between their lived experiences and growing aspirations. It must also be filled with fun and laughter, that relaxed state which allows us to open up, to be secure enough to fail and enjoy success. We must remember that awe and wonder cannot be a luxury or the preserve of pre-school. |
