Summary:This study probes matters related to decolonising International Relations (IR). This is executed by placing a central focus upon South Africa’s Es’kia Mphahlele’s thoughts, which he personally categorised as falling under the rubric of ‘Afrikan Humanism’. This study sets out to realise its research aims, by relying upon literature concerned with a Decolonial Turn. Literature focused upon decolonising IR is sourced, to complement the selected hybrid methodologies of the Life History/Story and Contrapuntal Analysis. This study ambitiously undertakes to argue, that it is via the latter selected approaches wherein possibilities are increased, to contest the Core/Mainstream Eurocentric IR Theory (IRT) narratives. Findings of this study are expected to help with the provision of guidance to support or deny the suggested rationale when considering Mphahlele as a befitting scholar, who may add value in the discourse of Africa’s IR. The latter may be interrogated on the strength of what this study proposes to be considered as Mphahlele’s AfrocentricPan-African Humanism contribution to IR. Contents of this study are hoped in its own way, to advance the search for possibilities that may support calls to include Es’kia Mphahlele’s Afrikan Humanism, as part of the evolving theme of Africa’s IR.
