Summary:Targeting at the problems of long settlement time, large uneven settlement and difficult to predict of adjacent soft soil foundation caused by road widening and reconstruction, taking a road widening reconstruction project as engineering background, the settlement deformation law of the adjacent soft soil foundation was studied by finite element analysis, field measurement and theoretical calculation.A finite element analysis and prediction method for deformation of soft ground under additional load was proposed. The results showed that:The settlement of the foundation of the outlet pool varyied greatly at different monitoring points, and the settlement was uneven; At the same monitoring point, the shallower the soil layer was,the greater the settlement rate was,and maximum value of layered settlement occured in soft soil with small modulus of compression; The numerical results considering the creep-consolidation coupling effect of soft soil agreeed well with the measured data, which could predict the post-construction
