Summary: | China has entered a stage of high-quality development in the new era. Especially as it ushers in the beginning of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan. China is about to embark on a new journey to build a modern and powerful socialist country in an all-round way. Its population development and social policy changes are also at a critical turning point. As a country with a large population, we urgently need to build a society that is more inclusive of development, attach importance to the support of and tolerance for different population groups, emphasize the broad sharing of social resources and the fruits of economic growth, take the long-term balanced population development as the yardstick and goal of socio-economic development, and perfect the "governance pattern of co-construction, co-governance, and sharing" through "continuous promotion of all-round human development." In connection with the current national strategic needs and policy practice demands, we discuss the core and even hot topics in the fields of population development and social policy including gender, childcare, sub-replacement fertility and population aging. |
