Summary: | According to the Statistical Bulletin of Chinas Marine Economy in 2019 published by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the national gross ocean product in 2019 was 8 941.5 biion yuan, with an increase of 6.2% over 2018, accounting for 9.0% of gross domestic product ( GDP). According to the China Marine Statistics Yearbook (2017 ) , the number of colleges and universities offering marine majors in China reached 537 in 2016, laying an important foundation for China's marine talent team. According to regional characteristics and advantages, it is needed to improve the setting of characteristic disciplines in universities and enhance the value and influence of disciplines, so as to enhance the competitiveness of marine reserve talents.
