Summary: | Behan profiles sculptor David Dunne who devoted his whole life to sculpture. A considerable portion of Dunne's work is experimental and challenging. He has chosen a difficult route for his practice and the viewer must bear with the direction he pursues. Although his work bears witness to his willingness to experiment, at its core it is firmly based on workshop practice, to the discipline of craft at the highest level. He is a world-class bronze finisher with more than thirty-five years' experience. His work is international in its scope and range and, in recent years, he has exhibited widely in Norway, Sweden and Germany, where his work is greatly respected. |
