Summary: | A method to characterize ... interface effects on fatigue crack growth (FCG) in additively manufactured (AM) Ti–5Al–5Mo–5V–1Cr–1Fe is proposed with a fatigue model in peridynamic framework. The proposed method is verified by simulating FCG behaviors, and the simulation results accord well with our previous experiment observations. Then, some in-depth discussions as well as possible improvements towards the proposed method are presented. It is demonstrated that as compared with the present fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) evaluations for traditionally manufactured materials, anisotropy of material resistance to fatigue is of great significance for AM materials.
