Summary:The twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is a specific complication of monochorionic twin pregnancies. The diagnosis is often established in the second trimester of pregnancy and is based on a set of ultrasound arguments. The management of this complication is conditioned by the gestational age of onset and by the hemodynamic tolerance of the two fetuses. Severe and early forms (<26 weeks of amenorrhea) are treated by laser coagulation of placental vascular anastomoses.
