Summary: | University-led engineering outreach is an important activity for extension efforts and for faculty interested in broader impacts of their teaching and research endeavors. In many universities, much of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outreach activities are focused on K-12 students and/or educators. In this paper, we highlight engineering outreach geared primarily towards adults through public engagement and senior adult initiatives. First, we will describe benefits of engineering outreach to adults. Then, we will detail some examples from our university. |
