Summary:In Ida e volta, by Aldyr Garcia Schlee, the melancholic path of a man visiting the affective spaces of his childhood is narrated. This short story is created within the construction of space perspective, and is constituted by the relationship with the subjectivity, as the narrator operates in a constant change of point of view that subtly guarantees the diegetic consistency. Yet, the narrative space is also constituted from the relationship with time, since all its description is established against the memories of a past time. This paper aims at observing how language constructs, in the fictional space, the impossibility of a locus amoenus in Ida e volta. In order to do that, the construction of the narrative space, from its relationship with the categories of person and time, will be analyzed as well as their implications with the manner of narration, based on Emile Benveniste's reflections on the symbolization and the inseparability between language and subjectivity.
