Summary:In our country the employment issue of people with disabilities and a reduced work capacity came into the centre of attention in the years following the change of regime. Both the Hungarian and the international professional literature stress the importance of the employers’ way of thinking, approach and attitude which play a crucial role in the increase of the target group’s economic activity. Researches suggest that low academic qualification, age and other peculiarities of people with disabilities and a reduced work capacity influence their own employment rate. Based on available Hungarian statistical surveys the study aims at examining the changes in demographic features that influence the labour market situation of people with disabilities and a reduced work capacity.
