Summary:Hediste diversicolor (polychaete annelida) is quite common in ecosystems with varied characteristics such as in coastline of El Jadida (Morocco): the estuary of Oum Rbiaa, the two lagoons Sidi Moussa and Oualidia and in the fishing port. In order to reveal a possible morphological populational variability between these four sites, we have counted among a group of 50 individuals from each population the paragnaths and the chaetigerous. In addition, the distribution of paragnaths in position I is also studied. The results obtained show a clear resemblance between the population of the estuary of Oum Rbiaa and the fishing port on one hand and between the lagoon Oualidia and Sidi Moussa on the other hand. The first group is characterized by a low number of paragnaths and a lower diversity, while second group is characterized by a high number of paragnaths and high diversity. This diversity appears to be related to a difference of the physic-chemical conditions of living environments of Worms, such as: salinity of water and particle size of sediment.
