Preparation of Ce^sup 3+^-activated UV-emitting fluoride phosphors

One step, wet chemical synthesis of several Ce^3+ activated fluorides is described. Intense ultraviolet (UV) emission is observed in most cases. It is suggested that this emission can be used to obtain UV-emitting lamps for UV phototherapy. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
