Summary:A computed tomographic (CT) scan of the abdomen and pelvis (Figure 3 ), obtained after the oral administration of contrast material, disclosed a tubular soft-tissue structure that extended medially from the cecum behind the terminal ileum. The sparse additional history includes intermittent pain in the right testis, a diagnosis of hemochromatosis documented by several tests, apparently normal bowel function throughout the illness, and a family history of hemochromatosis and inflammatory bowel disease.
