Summary: | [...]it felt like that experience needed to be translated as the robe, so that's basically what I tried to articulate. 2.PROCESS: DIGITIZING SKY BLANKET Hannah Turner: Meghann and Conrad, can you describe how the Wrapped in the Cloud project began? What makes that end medium meaningful specifically to this project on a conceptual level? I think the animation we ended up with for the MacKenzie Gallery is sort of that searching. Because I think eventually we're working towards the 3D print, so it's this in-between contemplation of why a 3D-printed thing could have new forms of meaning in today's culture and could be important and not just replication of a thing but more of, like, a companionship thing. [...]the goal that we all tossed around here is that this projection should not be only a high-fidelity replica, it should be something else. Because vast amounts of it are needed to make the computer work at all. |
