Summary:Objective: To evaluate the value of high-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography (HFCDU), X-ray mammography and combination of the two in diagnosing breast cancer. Methods: We selected 318 patients with breast cancer confirmed by our hospital between April 2009 and April 2012. Among them, 104 and 98 cases were examined only by HFCDU or X-ray mammography. Combination of the two methods was carried out in 116 patients. Results: In X-ray group, 78.6% cases were diagnosed accurately while 11.2% and 10.2% cases had false positive and negative diagnoses, respectively. HFCDU yielded diagnosis rate of 80.7%, with false positive and negative diagnosis of 10.6% and 8.7%, separately. Combination of HFCDU and X-ray method increased the diagnosis rate to 93.1% while the rates of false positive and negative diagnoses were reduced to 10.6% and 8.7%.
