In the scene Practicing Meditation in the Eleventh Lunar Month, the dose view is the veranda and the trails that an; connected with the pavilions and the houses and that divide the water surface into front and tear sides, the medium views are people are dressed in colorful dothes, and the distant view is composed of an arrow tower, a dty waE, a temple, and a white tower in the scene Admiring the Snow in the Tweheth Lunar Month, the dose view is dominated by the courtyard in the center; which is surrounded by courtyards, the medium view presents a round pavilion at the foot of the mountain, and the distent views are continuous mountains, too. [...]the Baroque courtyard doors with terrace tailings in Admiring the Snow in the Twelveth Month, which utilizes the dement of the Chinese-style courtyard and which is similar to foe western gate in foe Wanshou Temple of Zizhu Garden, reflects the tolerance of the emperor for rndti-culture at that time. 2 Spatial characteristics 2.1 Spatial scale According to statistics, foe main buildings in the painting series are mostly in three standard widths, and there are only two rooms in five standard widths, suggesting that the emperor chose the appropriate space form at that time to meet the needs of the belief space and the political space. The evolution of paintings may be due to the influence of the court painting system of the Qing Dynasty, and the evolution of the "closeness-openness- semi-openness" in space is consistent with the process of the emperor being influenced by the southern garden16'71. 3 Conclusions After analyzing the space of the painting series, authors of this paper deemed that the Qing Dynasty emperor's emphasis on the living environment, the study and application of the borrowed scenery and the indusiveness of multiculture are the driving factors for the prosperity of the garden construction in the early Qing Dynasty. |
