Summary:Acid brunisolic soil is dominant, and dark coniferous forest dominated by Abies georgei mainly exists in sample site, which is accompanied by little Prunus serrula, Sorbus rehderiana, Salix daltoniana, Rhododendron spp., Lonicera spp. and Ribes glaciale. 2 Research methods 2.1 Field sample-plot survey On east and west slopes of Sygera Mountain in 2016, three sample plots (30 m x30 m) were set according to high, middle and low altitudes, and there were 18 sample plots in total. 5 m x5 m adjacent lattice method was used for investigation, and community type, altitude, gradient, slope direction and canopy density in each sample plot were recorded. [...]all dead standing trees, fallen woods, tree stumps and big branches with diameter ⅝10 cm and length ⅞ 1.0 cm in the sample plot were investigated. According to the literature1121, decay grade of CWD was divided into five levels; I, II, III, IV and V. Standard wood of each kind of CWD at different decay grades was determined, and its wet weight was weighed on site. According to stratified sampling method, certain volume of sample was collected from central sections of upper, middle and lower parts of standard trees. [...]average regenerated seedling number (8.6 plants/m2) on and around fallen wood was far more than mean (3.1 plants/m2) in woodland. 4Conclusions and discussions Regenerated seedling on fallen wood roughly showed normal distribution, and there were more regenerated seedlings in the middle of fallen wood and fewer regenerated seedlings at two ends, which was consistent with distribution pattern of seedling on fallen wood in spruce-fir forest of Changbai Mountain171.
