Summary:According to the constitutional law scholar Janis Pleps - Latvia's statehood, national sovereignty, its identity as a national state, a democratic republic, a state with the rule of law, a socially responsible state, the doctrine of continuity and belongingness to the European constitutional law system and Western democracies are axioms that define the scope of application of the Satversme. The new state created a judicial system and step by step law enforcement agencies were formed to check and ensure the efficient functioning of the public administration system. Participants of the conference will express ideas on how to help our country flourish and attain its deserved place among the international community - by improving the rule of law and security, by developing its business environment and promoting cultural and scientific achievements.
