Summary:Introduction: In our country where animal husbandry is common, it is aimed to compare the seroprevalence and serological methods of Brucellosis antibodies. Materials and Methods: The high-risk group which was veterinarians (n=50), animal caregivers (n=109), butchers (n=65) and control groups (n=100) were included in this study between December 2017- February 2018. Serological techniques, including the Rose Bengal test (RBT), Standard tube agglutination test (STA) and Enzyme-Linked Immusorbent Assay (ELISA; IgG and IgM) method were performed on patients serum The sensitivity and specificity of the used methods were estimated based ELISA (IgG and/or IgM) results. Results: Twenty-one (6.48%) patients with RBT, 15 (71.4%) with STA and 10 (3.1%) with ELISA (IgG and / or IgM) were positive in the serum of 27 patients who had positive results with at least one of the serological tests. 6 (28%) patients with RBT negative were found to be positive for ELISA. Conclusion: Based on these criteria, Brucella positive cases were not detected in our study group for Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. Only two cases were reported in the Ministry of Health Statistics Unit in 2013. Laboratory diagnosis should be supported by tests such as seroconversion for low titers of STA, or tests such as ELISA.
