Abstract This paper aims to reflect, via a bibliographical analysis, upon the artworks of two visual artists active in the 1970s and that expanded the limits of visual arts into the field of performances. These artists are Hélio Oiticica and Lygia Clark. They let us see that performances (with close relation to the field of theatre) and visual arts (linked to the symbolic materiality of objects) get together, widening and renewing theirs presence field within arts and starting new models of collaboration. Also, the use of performance art in schools can help students as it is has a rich and diverse expressive means of teaching.
