Summary: | Spain's Costa del Sol houses a fusion of North European immigrants and local Spanish residents who have helped create business services which cater exclusively to the modern package holiday-maker. An examination is made of levels of development among British expatriate service providers (ESPs) in Torremolinos, La Carihuela, Banalmadena Costa and Fuengirola. Investigation shows different features affecting business provision to a point where owners now perceive themselves to be performing satisfactorily. It is argued that these resorts are in transition and with continued improvements in offering customers a better product, an overall survival of expatriate service provision is likely. |
