Gemcitabine reverses cisplatin resistance: Demonstration of activity in platinum- and multidrug-resistant ovarian and peritoneal carcinoma

The authors noted in a cohort of women with gemcitabine-resistant disease that there was antitumor activity when gemcitabine was combined with cisplatin. They chose to evaluate this combination regimen in women with multidrug-refractory ovarian and primary peritoneal carcinoma.
